Pie Making

when my mom came to visit I had her make a Apple pie The Recipe was from
my grandma Melba Packer she once owned a cafe with her first husband I remember her coming to our house and with my mom teaching me to make pie so I wanted to get picture of my mom making pie which she does all the time. When I was younger I remember her making an easy 10 pies and giving half away. the first picture is of when I was going to take a picture and she got all excited because she didn't have her lipstick on and I who did not get that habit at all thought it to be way funny! she first made the pie filling since Dad is Diabetic has gone
to a sugar free filling which is Granny smith apples and Apple jucie and Cornstarch. Mom heats it up on the stove till it starts to thicken.
pie crust recipe
3 cups flour
1 1/3 cups shorting
1tsp Salt
6TBSP cool water
1TBSP vinegar
1Egg
you mix dry ingredients ,then mix wet and poor into
dry Ingredients will make 3 pie crusts mom likes to make sugar pies with the 3rd pie yummy. this is the finished product:

my door mat

This is my front door to the averege veiw they would say nothing. they might say oh whats this picture for? or nice door .or even you need some color. out of all these my Dad said I don't think I can come visit with that door mat they were comeing down for the weekend and it just so happened that Utah State was playing BYU of which my dad is a huge BYU fan so I didsome fast thinking.


So the night before they were going to come I took a Blue pillow case to Holly's to make a door mat slip cover and because I have terrible hand writing I let Kristina do the words then her and Capri and me painted the rest and this was the fished product my dad loved it

I Discovered

So ever two weeks we help holly do her Costco run, for me this is a lot of fun I love to shop I don't care what is for. My job is to mark things of the list and keep holy with in budget my rule is this if she can get something off the list if she has decided one of the items on the list she doesn't need.(of equal or lesser Value) it works pretty well but lets face it if she really wants it, it is her money and she will get it but it makes her ponder for a minute if she needs it. I like to play the tough. On this day I was I was extra happy because I don't have a cup holder on my scooter,To my surprise the Costco cups fit right in the middle of the controller this made me very happy Discovered

Greenbelt

So the other day we went with Jericho and holly on a walk on the greenbelt the trees still had some leaves on them.Lets be honest I rode me scooter and they walk but it was still fun I carried the drinks in my basket so I felt useful.
we took some random pictures of use and holly was obsessed with the leaves and what kind of tree was growing such fabulous leaves. We even saw some fly fisherman in the river .

Boys shoot girls shop

When the boys went shooting me and Holly went shopping and to dinner. It was the first time since we have moved that we were out without the kids.
Do you think holly is happy?

So first we went to by some clothes for Holly. She needed them very bad. She got a couple pairs of jeans and a pair of black pants, and a couple sweaters and a shirt.We had so much fun we laughed and laughed. Their was a guy who worked there who must of thought we were crazy. He came up to see if we needed any help. we talked for awhile then he walked away so Holly said hey can you get that guy I have a question. So I turned around and yelled hey guy we need some help. the whole time we were there we called him guy and me and holly were talking later and she was amazed that his name was guy I cracked up and said his name not guy we just called him that. the fashion shots are here of her new clothes






we then were off to dinner. we went to Olive Garden for dinner it was so good we had the nice server. his name was Tim he was very humorous we learned a lot about him we learned that he has been sober for 6 months and he lived in Kentucky on a horse farm ,and I have the best for last. his family plays hand and foot!

Shooting

Gary went shooting last Saturday with Steve and his brother Paul by the sounds of the stories they had a great time.
this is Gary shooting a tactical shotgun, good news is he only had a little bruising on his shoulder

I also love how Steve is all decked out in his camo and fancy ear plugs why my Gary has his fancy sweats and the old fashion ear plugs who is the real Idaho boy and as for me if I am at a shooting range do I really want to blend in .(look at gary's face - no hair )

Sleep over

First, what does it say when I am so excited for my mother in-law to come down and have a slumber party? Wednesday at the temple she told us she was going to come down Thursday and stay the night and do some shopping the next day. Which is good for me because Gary goes and sings Thursdays nights so we could play. Gary made use a fabulous dinner of roast and potatoes then he was out the door and the fun began. first we watched survivor that's her favorite show. then I taught her how to play Settlers of Zarahemla which she won then we played Skip-bo. We ended the night with an Apple crisp and the Walton's the Gary got home and we talked and went to bed. The answer to the first questionis she is a lot fun and so sweet to come entertian me.

Whirl-a- style

For fun tonight Holly had bought this fancy hair thing called whirl-a- style to make this fun but yet fancy bun. Well after Holly tried several times and I tried a couple of times and we all but gave up, then I said I can do it and after pulling out few hairs this was the result and I must say for one buck, she looks hot. nothing like the 10 for 10 at Clair's How ever as good as she looks she would not recommended this product and proclaimed "this is a pain in the butt"

It's all gone !

This is my handsome husband yesterday he did it he shaved his beard off!! we have been married 16 years and he grew it in 1993 when he was in fiddler on the roof. and I was ready for a change for him he told me he would feel naked with out it and I told him I like you naked. as of right know I have no pictures because he refuse to let me. one things for sure I like kissing him with out it (I feel like I am having affair). all in all he looks good

New friends

well since I have been in Boise I made a new friend and found an old friend the first is Tammy M she is in my ward at church she saw me with my cane and said she used one from time to time because she has MS so we started to talk and as she was telling me about her self and that she grew up in Pocatello and she married a boy from Pocatello it all started to click that her sister in-law was my good friend Pearl from elementary and junior high but it got better Pearl lives in Boise so we got together and had a blast getting acquainted we get together on Friday because she doesn't have to work. It is so much fun .Pearl reminded me of something that happened when we were in 4th grade we toke violin lessons and we had played I Am A Child of God for the primary in service meeting I had totally forgot I remember being so nervous I am sure I made a few error but it makes me smile when I remember it .

Fall

This is a picture of my back yard one day I was missing Ky and I looked out my window and saw this tree and the fall colors . I used to see several trees in Ky and they were amazing so for that day I was so grateful for one beautiful tree that gave me many happy memory's I think it is wonderful how the Lord helps in so many different ways to cope with a challenges if we will let him
